Winning this prestigious award in its inaugural year in Scotland, and in my hometown of Glasgow, makes it all the more meaningful, and I am beaming from ear to ear. I am really looking forward to the national finals in London this January, and I’m hoping to bring home a double victory!”

elements of nature and your unique love story into each design,
making sure your cake truly reflects who you are as a couple.

every cake can be a showstopper! I use techniques like hand-painted details,
delicate wafer paper flowers, and textured fondant to create cakes
that capture the spirit of your special day.

I am Laura Rankin the creative face behind Creatures of Habit Cakery. I am an award winning Wedding and Celebration cake maker based on the beautiful Isle of Skye in Scotland, covering not only Skye but the Scottish Highlands and Islands, and as far as your heart desires my cakes.

I am a mum of two little boys and I solely run my business around raising them. When you choose Creatures of Habit Cakery, you'll be working directly with me every step of the way. From designing and baking your cake, to personally delivering and setting it up at your venue, I handle every aspect of our cake journey together. I'm the one responding to your emails, taking your calls, managing all marketing, and engaging on social media. You can say that I am a wonder woman.
Ethos

As a sustainable wedding cake designer my ethos is centred around creating beautiful wedding cakes, while minimising my environmental impact. I am committed to sourcing ethical produce for all cakes that I create for my couples; I use locally sourced free-range eggs, local or Scottish produce, and vegan or gluten free certified produce for speciality cakes and reduce waste through careful planning and packaging. Embracing an eco-conscious approach, I have adopted measures to ensure that I use environmentally friendly products where I can, supporting UK based suppliers and small businesses.
I am committed to planting trees through Ecologi, for each wedding couple and I am a member of the Sustainable Wedding Alliance, currently awaiting my sustainability accreditation.

I believe in inclusivity and celebrate love in all its forms - because love is free from boundaries of race, gender, or orientation.
